• The Haven Shield is built from 600-denier Oxford polyester — a tightly woven, cross-hatch weave fabric known for its resistance to tearing and abrasion. Unlike standard covers that thin and degrade after a single winter, the 600D construction holds its structure through repeated freeze-thaw cycles, high UV exposure, and the mechanical stress of on-and-off seasonal use. Caring for Your Haven Shield

• Outer fabric — Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap solution. For heavier soiling (bird droppings, tree sap, pollen), soak the affected area briefly before wiping. Avoid bleach, solvent-based cleaners, or abrasive scrubbers — these break down both the Oxford weave and the PU coating over time.
• PU waterproof coating — Do not machine wash or tumble dry. Mechanical agitation degrades the bonded coating layer and reduces waterproof performance. Hand rinse if needed, and allow to air dry completely before folding or storing.
• Drawstring & buckle hardware — Rinse the nylon straps and drawstring cord with fresh water after extended rain or salt-air exposure. Check the plastic buckle closures seasonally for brittleness in cold climates and replace if cracking appears.
• Air vents — Inspect the vent mesh once per season to clear any debris, dust, or insect nesting. A dry brush or compressed air is sufficient — do not block or tape the vents, as airflow is essential to preventing mildew beneath the cover.
• Off-season storage — Before folding for storage, ensure the cover is fully dry inside and out. Fold loosely (avoid sharp creases at the same fold lines each year) and store in the included bag in a cool, dry location. Storing damp or tightly compressed will accelerate coating degradation.
