Caring for Your Harper

• Steel Frame: Wipe down with a lightly damp cloth and a drop of mild dish soap as needed. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can scratch the powder coat. Once or twice per year, apply a thin coat of paste wax to the frame surface to maintain its matte finish and provide an additional barrier against moisture. Dry thoroughly after any cleaning.
• Wood-Grain Top Panel: Clean with a dry or barely damp microfiber cloth. Avoid standing water on the surface — wipe up spills promptly. Do not use harsh chemical cleaners or oil-based polishes, as these can degrade the laminate over time. A light furniture wax applied seasonally will keep the surface protected and looking fresh.
• Fabric Drawers: Spot clean individual drawers using a clean cloth dampened with cold water and a small amount of mild detergent. Work gently in circular motions and blot — do not rub. Air dry completely before returning the drawer to the frame. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
• Drawer Rails & Hardware: Occasionally check that all bolts and connector joints remain tightened, especially during the first few weeks of use as the piece settles. A light application of furniture-safe lubricant on the drawer rails will maintain smooth operation over time.
• Off-Season or Moving Storage: Disassemble the chest by removing the fabric drawers and, if needed, detaching the frame sections. Store the drawers in a dry, climate-controlled space. Avoid leaving the chest in rooms with extreme humidity or temperature fluctuations (basements, unheated garages) as prolonged exposure can affect both the wood-grain panel and the fabric drawer material.
