My number one fear was the hammock collapsing with two people in it. The steel stand is heavy-duty. The base is wide and stable. I've had myself, my wife, and our 50-pound dog in it, and it didn't even creak. The weight distribution is excellent. The stand has rubber feet that grip the patio. I've swung in it, I've climbed in and out. It never feels like it's going to tip. If you're worried about stability, this stand is a tank.
